Cover letter is a letter a letter which is written to provide brief, introductory and extra information about the accompanying document, package or any other item which requires the need of such. These items can be a gift item like clothing, a toy, contract, loan request, proposal, shipment, visa etc. It identifies and acknowledges the transmission of documents sent by the writer. Cover letter is used for a various purposes though by and large it is associated with resumes and job applications, if we search it on the internet. But this is just one of the many types of cover letters.
The cover letter is mostly an accompanying document covering any document or item for its easy identification. A parcel or package generally has a covering letter over it mentioning the content, the sender’s information and other important information which needs to be displayed. As it actually covers the documents or parcel it is known as cover letter. Cover letter is also known as covering letter and general cover letter. Cover letters make it easy for its easy categorization because one does not need to go through the accompanying material to know what it is. One can easily read the information provided by the cover letter and index it accordingly.
